Video Editing

Here are all the video edits I've created using various Adobe programs, either for personal projects or school assignments alongside some examples of my skills.

Mini Vlog Series - Personal Youtube

This video represents my most recent work, a personal passion project, created with the intention of sparking my creativity and setting a positive, content-driven tone for the year ahead. In the video, I am DJing at a club night alongside my best friend, and we decided to film it as a way to capture fun memories to look back on.

For this project, I used Adobe Premiere Pro exclusively, focusing on incorporating green screen effects and sound design to enhance the visual appeal and make the video more engaging for viewers.

Behind The Costume - London Live

London Live offered a select group of students from my college the opportunity to create a mini documentary, show, or film to be premiered on their channel. I was fortunate to be one of the students chosen for this project.

Together with a friend, I decided to focus on Notting Hill Carnival, a significant cultural event deeply embedded in London’s history. I had personal connections that allowed us to attend the unveiling of the carnival’s new costumes, providing a unique opportunity to document the event.

We were able to interview the owner of Funatik Mas, a prominent mas band, who gave us an invaluable insight into the preparations and cultural significance of being part of the London carnival scene.

As part of the project, we developed a script, shot list, and conducted a risk assessment. I used Adobe After Effects to create the graphics, while my partner and I worked together in Adobe Premiere Pro for editing, cutting, and adding subtitles.

Our documentary was eventually aired on London Live, and while we were both nervous, we were incredibly proud of the final result.

Harlington Hospice

This project addressed a very sensitive topic, and I was given the invaluable opportunity to create a video for an event hosted by a local hospice. The video featured an interview with a service user who shared her experience of receiving timely support from the hospice, which enabled her husband to pass away peacefully at home, and also provided her with the assistance she needed in the aftermath of his passing. The video was showcased at the event, and its emotional impact resonated deeply with the attendees.

This was a collaborative project, and my contributions included preparing the interview questions, adding graphics and music, and co-editing the video. All aspects of the production, including design, editing, and post-production, were executed using Adobe applications.

Add Oil Productions

Add Oil Productions began as a passion project and evolved into my final college project. It was a collaborative effort with several other students to launch a YouTube channel. My role involved creating the overall visual identity for the channel, including the logo, and producing a promotional video to encourage patrons to support the short films being produced for the channel.

The promotional video featured the original Add Oil team, describing who we were and what we did, accompanied by behind-the-scenes footage showcasing the bond and collaboration within the team.

The name Add Oil is a Hong Kong English expression that conveys encouragement and support. The creator of the channel, who hails from Hong Kong, wanted to express his patriotism through this phrase. To reflect this, I designed the logo by combining the imagery of an oil drop and a camera lens, symbolising both the encouragement and the creative process behind the channel.

In addition to the creative work, I was responsible for completing all necessary paperwork for filming, including the shot list, script, storyboard, and risk assessments, ensuring the production met legal and safety requirements. We filmed both indoors and outdoors, which required careful planning and organisation.

All of the graphics and animations for the project were created using Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro, which I used extensively for design, editing, and motion graphics.

Banning Backlash - Mini Documentary

I created Banning Backlash as part of a class project, where we were tasked with utilizing the radio studios at our school and learning how to conduct thorough research, properly cite sources using Harvard referencing, and work with a range of industry-standard software. We were required to use Adobe Audition, Media Encoder, and Premiere Pro to record, export, and edit audio and video content to produce our final projects.

Banning Backlash explores the issue of media censorship in South Korea, focusing on the double standards that exist in terms of content regulation. Through research into various television programs, I examined the rules surrounding sensitive topics such as nudity, gambling, and promotions. Ultimately, I proposed a solution to these issues by suggesting the implementation of a TV watershed system, similar to the one used in the UK for shows like Family Guy, where certain content could be aired after a specific time.
